A haiku is a poem that doesn't have to rhyme. it is a syllable up to seven. Haiku poems where born in Japan. In about the end of the 19th century haiku got its name instead of just being compared to a poem form because of all the type of poems. The name haiku also came out of confusion mostly because people that didn't understand Japanese poetry
